Tommy bought a used Vespa scooter for $25 when he was 11 years old. A year later, he sold it for $12 and then bought a 50cc Sears motorcycle. He has been riding motorcycles continuously since then. His first BMW was purchased in 1980, and “never looked back.” When asked how many BMW motorcycles he owns, he chuckled and said, “either way too many or almost enough.” He’s a fan of the GS line, and his collection goes from 1981 (the first year) to 2016 with several models from the years between.
He rides rides both on and off road, and he frequently leads GS rides. “My favorite surface is gravel,” Tommy says. “It’s more challenging and you can see places you’d never see from the highway.” He started selling motorcycles at Gateway BMW Motus the day after his retirement from a Fortune 500 company. “The people are what makes this place so special,” Tommy says. “The knowledge of the product and the way we treat our customers is what we pride ourselves on.”
